{"id":3662,"date":"2012-05-16T09:12:22","date_gmt":"2012-05-16T15:12:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.craftbeer.com\/recipes\/salmon-cakes-with-beer-chutney\/"},"modified":"2016-11-14T19:29:45","modified_gmt":"2016-11-15T02:29:45","slug":"salmon-cakes-with-beer-chutney","status":"publish","type":"recipes","link":"https:\/\/www.craftbeer.com\/recipes\/salmon-cakes-with-beer-chutney","title":{"rendered":"Salmon Cakes with Beer Chutney"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Salmon Cakes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Saut\u00e9 onions, mushrooms and capers on medium heat.<\/p>\n<p>Add salmon, herbs, and 1\/3 of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.craftbeer.com\/styles\/german-style-kolsch\">kolsch<\/a>\u00a0(author used <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chuckanutbreweryandkitchen.com\/\">Chuckanut Brewery and Kitchen<\/a> Kolsch) and then allow to cool.<\/p>\n<p>Add this mixture to the mayo, lemon juice and 1 cup panko, mix.<\/p>\n<p>Form cakes to desired size.<\/p>\n<p>Crack egg into a separate container which you will later be able to place the cakes in.<\/p>\n<p>Put the rest of the panko in a separate cooking sheet or dish that you are also able to place the cakes in to be covered.<\/p>\n<p>Roll the cakes in the egg, and then press them in the panko until they are covered and let chill.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Beer Chutney<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Blend the craisins.<\/p>\n<p>Slowly add the remaining kolsch\u00a0and sugar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cooking<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 350\u00b0F.<\/p>\n<p>Get a pan nice and hot and brown both sides of the salmon cakes quickly.<\/p>\n<p>Cook the cakes in the oven for 3-6 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This recipe makes delicious salmon cakes paired with a tangy kolsch chutney.
