NASHVILLE, Tenn.– (Aug. 25, 2020) – Tennessee Brew Works will release its limited Belgian-style Tripel Ale, Tripel Star®, 11AM Friday, Aug, 28 at their taproom located at 809 Ewing Ave, Nashville.

This Tennessee-borne Belgian-style ale is humbly brewed with inspiration from the finest Trappist traditions. Harnessing the yeast of the legendary Westmalle Abbey, they have created a traditional Belgian-style Tripel right here in Tennessee. Notes of apricot, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove provide a complex and full-flavored ale. The beer registers at 9% Alcohol-by-Volume and 30 IBUs.

“The Tripel Star is cellared for over 6-months prior to release. Stronger beers such as this one need time to properly condition for an optimal drinking experience. Accordingly, we have taken our time to nurture this creation,” said Christian Spears, founder and president of Tennessee Brew Works. “Cellar cold, drink with enthusiasm.”

The taproom beer release will include draft beer for dine-in and 12oz bottle 4-packs to-go. Customers will be able to pre-order the beer for curbside pickup starting at 10AM Friday, Aug 28th. Tripel Star will also have limited availability at retailers in middle Tennessee, Knoxville and Chattanooga. See social media for updates on that availability.

Two years ago, Wiley Roots made waves in the craft beer world with the release of Colorado’s first frozen sour beer slushie, Slush, a moderately-tart sour ale series that combines a kettle-soured base beer recipe and whole fruit purée. Since then, every summer, the brewery has released cans of Slush to-go and offered the same beer as a frozen slushie on site, with the help of a commercial-grade slushie machine that turns beer into alcoholic frozen beverages. This year, the brewery hopes to catch lightning in a bottle again, by creating a new pastry sour ale series that is inspired by classic ice cream truck desserts.

“We know serving beer from an ice cream machine may appear gimmicky, but for us it’s much more than that. It’s about making beer fun again and welcoming new beer drinkers. Since introducing the slushie machine two years ago, we have heard from a growing number of customers that they are now fans of the brewery because of these beers. While some folks get downright angry about what ‘is and is not beer’, we decided a long time ago to focus on what made people happy and to make beer that people loved to drink. I mean, at the end of the day, that’s what enjoying a beer is all about,” said Scott Davidson, Marketing Manager at Wiley Roots.

Customers seeking out Wiley Roots beer can buy directly from the brewery online at: https://shop.wileyroots.com or on the shelves in the craft beer section of most independent liquor stores across the Front Range.

On August 26th, The Virginia Beer Company celebrates Women’s Equality Day with the 2020 release of 39 Words.

“The Women of VBC have again come together this year to design and brew a new batch of 39 Words to commemorate the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage,” exclaimed VBC Operations Manager Luci Legaspi. “This year’s version of 39 Words — named after the number of words in the 19th Amendment, passed to the U.S. Constitution in 1920 — is a Moscow Mule-inspired Ale brewed with Blackberries, Ginger, and Mint.”

The 19th Amendment gave women the right to vote nationally on August 18, 1920, so why is Women’s Equality Day on August 26th each year?

“The simple answer…” notes friend of the brewery and local attorney (with Tarley-Robinson, PLC) Susan Tarley, “…is that even when a constitutional amendment has been ratified it’s not official until it has been certified by the correct government official. In 1920, that official was U.S. Secretary of State Bainbridge Colby. On August 26, 1920, Colby signed a proclamation behind closed doors at 8 a.m. at his own house in Washington, D.C., ending a struggle for the vote that started a century earlier. The New York Times ran the story about the document’s signing on its front page and noted the lack of fanfare for the historic event.'”

That is one of the many reasons why Virginia Beer Co. will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment on August 26, 2020.

“We are all about beers for all and cheers with all,” comments VBC Co-Founder Robby Willey. “The entire VBC team welcomes you to join the celebration of diversity, inclusivity, and beer brewed for all in honor of Women’s Equality Day 2020…and we hope you can join the fanfare!”

The release celebration on 8/26/2020 (3-9 pm) will feature live music by local musician Felicia Hoyos (5-8 pm) and pairings from a woman-owned food truck, Carmen’s Jamaican Authentic Cuisine. Limited draft of this 4.5% Moscow Mule-inspired Ale will be available along with 4-packs of 16 oz. cans.

The Arapahoe Amber Ale (a few photos here) was one of the first beers Great Divide brewed and Vibe Concepts’ Wazoo’s on Wazee, now closed, was one of the first accounts to carry it. The beer went onto win a GABF medal in 1996. The team figured they’d bring it full-circle and make it the inaugural brew at their new joint venture.

ABOUT VIBE CONCEPTS

Founded by brothers Dan, John and Mike Shipp, Vibe Concepts purchased their first restaurant, Spanky’s Roadhouse, in 1991. Since then, the group has expanded, currently owning and managing nine Colorado restaurants with a variety of themes and menus. With an operating philosophy that adheres to growth in a measured and responsible manner, the group only takes on projects that allow them to get involved and take a leadership role in the community while supporting neighborhood enhancement. The Vibe Concepts brand was conceived to set the tone for quality and service that guests can count on each time they visit a Vibe Concepts location.

ChocCollab Brownie Stout will be available on Thursday, Sept. 3 at Holidaily Brewing and Saturday, Sept. 5 at Highside Brewing.

ChocCollab Brownie Stout is centered around gluten-free and local ingredients. Gluten-free grains – millet and buckwheat – were sourced from Grouse Malt House in Wellington, Colorado. In addition, gluten-free brownies from Gluten Escape Bakery were added in the boil, creating a rich, chocolatey and smooth stout.

“As a gluten-free brewery, pastry stouts are usually out of the question,” said Alan Windhausen, Head Brewer for Holidaily. “We are excited to partner with Gluten Escape Bakery to provide the gluten-free brownies for this stout, which will be moderately strong, with notes of roasted malt and chocolate.”

Not only are the brownies gluten-free, but they are also award-winning, earning the 5280 Magazine Best Brownie award. “It’s one of our signature products,” said Kathy Letson, founder of Gluten Escape Bakery. “The simplicity of ingredients and the Belgian chocolate sets this recipe apart.”

Guests can enjoy ChocCollab Brownie Stout on tap or take the beer to go in 32 ounce crowlers at both Holidaily’s Golden taproom and Highside’s Frisco taproom.

“It really depends on what my daughter wants to dress up as – we tend to all go as a theme,” said Kevin McGee, President and CEO. McGee explained “She was Princess Leia one year and I got to be a Jedi, so that one worked out well but this year is up in the air a bit. She’s really into Marvel Universe characters now but my wife and I are feeling ‘Plague Doctor’ might be more topical so we have some thinking to do.” McGee continued “It’s going to take a few Fall Hornin’s to figure it all out.”

Fall Hornin’ is available on draft and sold in 6-packs of 12-ounce cans and is available nationally through select retailers.

Best yet, Fall Hornin’ pairs perfectly with seasonal cuisine and spirited discussions of costuming.

Fall Hornin’ (AVB 6%): With a deep copper hue and creamy beige-colored head, Fall Hornin’ Pumpkin Ale has inviting aromas of caramelized malt and baking bread with highlights of cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin and seasonal spices.

Mango Road features sour blond ale aged in oak wine barrels for up to 18 months then fermented with mangoes and infused with jasmine flowers and pink peppercorn.

Mango Road will be available locally at the Cascade Brewing Barrel House at 939 SE Belmont St., The Lodge at Cascade Brewing at 7424 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy, and online at CascadeBrewing.shop for local pickup only.
About Cascade Brewing
Founded in Portland, Oregon in 1998, Cascade Brewing is a pioneer of the sour beer renaissance, innovating the Northwest Sour Ale in 2006. The brewery’s portfolio of distinctive sour ales features fruit-forward, barrel-aged ales with complex flavors and aromas derived from the acid, the fruit and the residual flavors present in the aging barrels. An emphasis on year-to-year variation captures the unique subtleties of each year’s fruit growing season, leading sour beer connoisseurs around the world to seek out Cascade’s Northwest Sour Ales. The brewery also brews a broad range of non-sour styles with the same level of quality and creativity that has become synonymous with the Cascade Brewing brand.
CascadeBrewing.com | @CascadeBrewing

Pelican Brewing Company launches a new campaign that celebrates its home on the rugged shore of Oregon’s North Coast—and its fellow adventure-seekers who thrive there. Pelican was born in a culture rooted in adventure and a passion for exploring the incomparable beauty of the Oregon Coast. The brewery now unveils the Updrift Campaign to pay homage to that sense of place and a flock of locals who do what stirs their souls and inspired the ideal companion beer for adventure—welcome Updrift IPA.

“Adventure is our purpose and beer is our passion—it’s what gets us up in the morning and stirs us to do more and explore this place we call home,” says Jim Prinzing, CEO, Pelican Brewing Company. “The North Coast is rich with adventure to experience and we wanted to honor the stories of the people and beer that make this place so special.”

Meet the flock that inspires Pelican to brew what stirs the soul

Pelican invited five local fellow fanatics to share how they live and immerse themselves in the organic and stimulating coastal lifestyle. They are adventurers who embody the gritty, authentic and spirited personality inherent in the Pelican experience. The Updrift Campaign follows five passionate locals who—like us—wake up every day in a place that reminds them that amazing is possible. Meet the Updrifters:

Pacific City’s surfing power couple

Al Ciske and Sandy Smith share a deep zeal. As Pacific City’s dynamic surfing power couple, they live and breathe salt water and fresh sea air—driven by the pull of the ocean and a passion for riding waves. They epitomize the local surf lifestyle, covet the beach culture, and are principals in the tightknit surf community of the North Coast. They have created a life at the beach with the same intention and purpose that Pelican brews. When not actually in the water, Al is a specialty contractor for Seastack Construction and a full-time surfboard shaper at NME Shapes, a company he founded, owns and operates. Sandy is a guest services manager at Headlands Coastal Lodge and Spa where she helps guests explore the area and options for exhilarating adventure. Learn more about what drives this energetic duo!

He’s one legendary doryman

For some longtime Oregon natives, the thought of Pacific City conjures up the vision of majestic dory boats gracing the shores and plowing the breakers there. These waters are one of the only places in the world where dories can launch straight from the beach—an age-old dory culture has lured adventure seekers for decades. One local fixture on the dory scene is Joe Hay. He and his partner, Wendy, are the owners and operators of Haystack Fishing, a charter fishing service that’s been running the waters for almost 25 years. With a deep respect for the ocean and its bounty, Joe takes pride in his work and maybe most importantly, the sense of community and belonging his feels in this little slice of heaven. Check out Joe’s story—it’s a delight.

Meet one of Pelican’s chief innovators

When Pelican brewers brainstorm a new beer, they don’t necessarily start with a recipe or a list of ingredients—rather Pelican brewers imagine what they want to experience, how do they feel and what are they enjoying while drinking the beer? Pelican’s Cat Wiest and team were tasked with creating the perfect adventure beer—the consummate reward at the end of a rousing activity. Mission accomplished! According to Cat, “Updrift is unique because it’s a crushable IPA. It’s cleansing. If I’d just hiked to the end of Cape Lookout, or hauled out of the water after a swim in the bay, this is what I’d want.” Cat had a dream of living on the North Coast where today she hikes, swims, forages, and of course brews exceptional beer. She’s an innovative ‘creative’ whose incredible travel experience and work in the fishing industry informs her brewing—and she’s got a compelling story to tell about how she got here.

Raised by the North Coast

Jarett Juarez’s passion for the North Coast runs deep. Whether riding motorcycles in the Coast Range, spearfishing off the jetty or driving his hand-built VW Bus Roxy through winding forest roads, adventure is never far from Jarett’s mind. His drive to learn, create, and adventure is fueled by his upbringing right here on the North Coast, where titles don’t stand for much, and hard work is respected above all. Raised by a commercial fisherman, Jarett’s thirst for adventure and the ocean matches that of Pelican Brewing. It’s in their blood and engrained in their soul. Learn more about Jarett’s personal connecting and calling to the North Coast.

Meet the perfect adventure companion

Updrift was crafted with adventure in mind—both to explore bold new flavor combinations and to honor Pelican’s roots on the North Coast. Pelican brewers composed an irresistible adventure-in-a-can when they crafted Updrift. Long on unexpected flavor and refreshment, Updrift is the perfect thirst-quenching reward at the end of any outdoor feat. Available now—and year-round—in 12 oz. cans, 6-packs, mixed IPA 12-packs, and on-tap at Pelican brewpubs and other participating watering holes.

“We needed a companion, a beer that matches our adventurist spirit—a beer that is equally refreshing and unexpected as the environment we’re surrounded by in Pacific City. So, we brewed Updrift with this intention as we do with every beer we imagine,” says Darron Welch, founding brewmaster, Pelican Brewing Company. “We thought of it all—the where, who, when, how will this beer be enjoyed. Then we designed the ingredients to reach the experience goal. We knew Updrift needed to be refreshing, medium lean in texture, and have a crisp finish to quench your thirst after ascending Cape Lookout or after a surf session.”

Drifting against the current, Updrift moves against the grain of predictable flavor, bringing a bright clean hop aroma chock full of tropical, stone fruit and zesty citrus. Underpinned by a foundation of toasty malt, the punchy assertive hops rise upward in a crescendo of flavor, leading to a clean hoppy finish. Atop the dune, the trail or after catching the big wave, Updrift belongs on your next adventure to ascend the crest of hop character!

ABV: 7.1% | IBU: 70 | PLATO: 16º

Pelican continues to be one of the most decorated breweries in the Pacific Northwest, earning well over 450 medals including several Gold Medals this year alone at the World Beer Cup, Australian International Beer Awards and North American Beer Awards.

Like all Pelican beers, Updrift is born at the beach by a team of award-winning craft beer makers known for brewing styles of beer that they themselves love to drink. Cheers!

About Pelican Brewing Company

Pelican Brewing Company was born at the beach in 1996. Here, in front of a rundown old building at the water’s edge, stood three enthusiastic young folks whose thirst for great beer overshadowed their understanding of what it would take to build a brewery. They did it anyway. Thanks to the vision of founding owners Jeff Schons and Mary Jones, Oregon’s only beachfront brewpub became one of the state’s most popular destinations. And now 24 years later, Pelican Brewing Company is an iconic beach brand and one of the most decorated craft breweries in Oregon. Pelican has been honored with more than 450 awards including the prestigious 2015, 2016, 2017 Australian International Beer Awards Champion Medium International Brewery; 2014 World Beer Cup Champion Small Brewery; 2013 Great American Beer Festival Large Brewpub of the Year. Why? Pelican brews are playful, but not frivolous. Brewed with purpose, passion and a deep respect for the craft. Pelican operates brewing and brewpub facilities in Pacific City, Cannon Beach, and its state-of-the-craft brewery in Tillamook, Oregon where it brews 40,000 barrels of award-winning beer annually and distributes to six states. Pelican’s vision, its beer and values were born at the beach where the team wakes up each day in a place that reminds them that amazing is possible. Cheers, Fellow Fanatics!

HOOD RIVER, Ore. – August 11, 2020 – Ferment Brewing Co. is pleased to release its contribution to the international Black is Beautiful initiative that now includes more than 1,000 breweries across 20 countries. The Hood River brewery will debut its Black is Beautiful Imperial Coffee Stout in 16-ounce cans on August 14.

Ferment Brewing Co.’s Imperial Coffee Stout is a rich and complex beer loaded with caramel notes and deep roasted malt with the added zing and brightness of a cold steep with Nossa Familia Coffee Mathilde’s French Roast (10% ABV).

“In this important time in history, it is our responsibility to stand up for equality, be actively anti-racist and help to continue this movement until true change is made,” said Dan Peterson, Ferment Brewing Brewmaster. “We are grateful to be able to express our love and support for the Black Lives Matter cause through this beer.”

The Black is Beautiful initiative is a collaborative effort amongst the brewing community and its customers, in an attempt to bring awareness to the injustices that many people of color face daily. The idea was created by Marcus Baskerville, co-founder of Weathered Souls Brewing Co. in San Antonio, Texas, who created an original Imperial Stout recipe then challenged other breweries to put their own twist on the beer and give all proceeds to local organizations fighting injustice.

Ferment Brewing has committed to donating 100% of the proceeds of Black is Beautiful to the Urban League of Portland to support its efforts empowering African Americans and others to achieve equality in education, employment, health, economic security and quality of life.

During the COVID-19 quarantine, Ferment Brewing Co. is operating a take-out window at the brewery, located at 403 Portway Ave. from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Black is Beautiful cans will also be available in local bottle shops in the Portland and Hood River areas.

(PORTLAND, Ore. –– August 5, 2020) –– Cascade Brewing has packaged two of its most popular Northwest Sour Ales for the first time in the brewery’s history. Starting this Friday, August 7, Cascade fans can look forward to drinking Honey Ginger Lime and Honeycot in 12 ounce cans.

Honey Ginger Lime features sour rye ale aged in oak barrels and foudres for up to 10 months with candied ginger and lime zest, followed by a late infusion of fresh ginger, more lime and local wildflower honey. Lightly sour with a kiss of honey sweetness, Honey Ginger Lime offers an ideal balance of complexity and refreshment (6% ABV).

Cascade’s Honeycot features sour blond ale aged in oak wine barrels for up to 16 months with fresh Northwest-grown apricots and a late addition of local wildflower honey (7.1% ABV).

Both thirst-quenching beers will be released on August 7 in cans and draft kegs at Cascade’s two Portland pubs: the Cascade Brewing Barrel House at 939 SE Belmont St. and the Lodge at Cascade Brewing at 7424 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy. Honey Ginger Lime and Honeycot will also be made available in 12 ounce cans through the brewery’s distribution network and can be ordered for local pickup at CascadeBrewing.shop.

Minneapolis (July 8, 2020) – Able Seedhouse + Brewery in Northeast Minneapolis is phasing in a smooth hazy pale ale for daydreaming, stargazing and everything in between.

Moon Ripper features a distinct and delicious flavor profile, born from being creative with ingredients on hand. “It was actually designed from the extra hops we had in the cooler during the beginning of the pandemic,” says Able Head Brewer Bobby Blasey. “It just happened that we had enough Jarrylo, Loral and Simcoe hops to make something really tasty for the summer. The combination of hops gives Moon Ripper lots of citrus, melon, pear, and berry flavors with just a small touch of pine and pepper notes to keep it interesting.”

Moon Ripper is unfiltered, clean, hoppy and juicy, with a 4.8% ABV and 7 IBU. Give it a try in the Able taproom starting Friday, July 10th and find Moon Ripper on local shelves beginning Monday, July 13th. For samples, interview opportunities or additional details, please contact Kelly Plummer at 651-206-9852 or kelly@superstarpr.com.

Santa Monica Brew Works Honors Dogtown’s Oldest Skate Shop with Return of Rip City Skates IPA

Brewery Celebrates “IPA Day” with Special Release 16 oz Cans

Santa Monica’s first and only brewery toasts the city’s last real skate shop with limited release beer – back by popular demand.

LOS ANGELES (August 3, 2020) LA’s oldest continuously operated skate shop, Rip City Skates, has been the hub of Santa Monica’s skate scene for more than 40 years. To celebrate that legacy, Santa Monica Brew Works (SMBW) reintroduces “RIP CITY SKATES IPA”, a West Coast-Style India Pale Ale.

“It’s the perfect way to celebrate IPA Day.” Says Scott Francis, SMBW’s Co-Founder, President & CEO.

Each year on the first Thursday of August, breweries and bars across the globe celebrate IPA Day, a collective toast to one of craft beer’s most iconic styles.

“Rip City Skates IPA was an instant sensation when we debuted it earlier this year, selling out in less than a month.” Says Francis. “We’ve been asked repeatedly about when the beer was coming back.”

It’s a fitting collaboration that pairs Santa Monica’s first and only brewery with the city’s last real skate shop. Both companies pride themselves in local community involvement and dedication to their respective craft.

“We admire Rip City’s independent spirit and historical significance,” adds Francis. “We value authenticity, and Rip City Skates is as real as it gets.”

RIP CITY SKATES IPA (6.5% ABV, 45 IBUs) will be available in 4-packs of 16 oz cans to-go from the brewery’s Tasting Room (1920 Colorado Avenue, Santa Monica, CA).

Rip City Skates opened its doors in 1978 as skateboarding was beginning to gain popularity. Santa Monica and Venice (collectively “Dogtown”) would become the epicenter of skateboard culture during the ‘70s and ‘80s. The store has survived all the various incarnations of skating since, remaining open even during the coronavirus pandemic.

“I used to get my skate shoes and decks from Rip City, so I’m stoked to brew a special beer for this iconic shop.” Says Head Brewer and Santa Monica native, Drew Pomatti. “Of course, it had to be a West Coast-Style IPA. Hop-forward with a citrus kick.”

Visit santamonicabrewworks.com for hours and availability.

Jester King Brewery is over the moon to announce our latest launch — TERPY GALAXY, a double IPA hopped with Australian Galaxy hops!

Terpy Galaxy is a recipe swap with our great friends at American Solera in Tulsa, Oklahoma. During these times when onsite collaboration brews have been difficult or impossible to do, recipe swaps have emerged as one way for brewers to stay connected. American Solera brewed and released O.G. Black Metal Imperial Stout at their brewery, and we took the recipe for Terpy Galaxy Double IPA and brewed it here!

Mashed with local malted barley from Blacklands Malt, oats, and wheat. Dry hopped aggressively with Australian galaxy hops. Pure culture fermentation in stainless. 9.1% alcohol by volume. Canned and kegged on Thursday, July 30th, at Jester King.

Released today (Friday, July 31st) at Noon, Terpy Galaxy is available by the glass and in 16oz. can four-packs ($20). We have about 1,200 four-packs available. No limit.

Proxies are welcome (please designate when ordering). Order online for curbside pickup or make a reservation to come see us at our re-imagined outdoor space.

Cheers and thanks to American Solera for participating in this fun, remote project with us!

(PORTLAND, Ore. –– July 24, 2020) –– Cascade Brewing announced today it has released five brand new non-sour beers on draft and in 16-ounce cans, including two that are fundraisers for charitable causes. All five beers will be self-distributed in the Portland Metropolitan area and are also available at the Cascade Brewing Barrel House at 939 SE Belmont St. and the Lodge at Cascade Brewing at 7424 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy.

Black Is Beautiful: This is Cascade’s contribution to a world-wide initiative to raise awareness for the injustices people of color face daily and raise funds for police brutality reform and legal defenses for this who have been wronged. This full-bodied stout was brewed with toasted coconut, cardamom and vanilla bean (10.5% ABV). Proceeds will be donated to The Black United Fund of Oregon.

BREATHING : CONVERSATIONS: This beer was brewed as a New England style Double IPA with Citra and Mosaic hops as part of collaborative initiative started by Finback Brewery following the killing of George Floyd. Pale in color with a thick, bright yellow haze, the beer is full-bodied with tropical fruit flavors and a low bitterness (8% ABV). A portion of proceeds from the sales of this beer will be donated to Urban League of Portland.

Foaming at the Mask: Sometimes lagers can make you salivate uncontrollably. With this Heller Bock-inspired lager, Cascade brewers tried to do just that for those who crave a malt forward beer. Brewed with German Northern Brewer hops, this beer features a medium-to-full body with a light malt sweetness in the beginning that rounds out with a clean noble hop character on the finish (6.7% ABV).

Liquid Veil: Face coverings come in many different forms, including American pale ales, like this one. Packed with Azacca and Rakau hops, the tropical fruit and citrus aromas are a pleasant break from a mask (5.5% ABV).

Sudsationalist: This beer presents as a dry and crisp American lager, dry-hopped with Simcoe hops, in a way that is intended to provoke interest in having an additional beer after the first (4.1% ABV).

About Cascade Brewing

Founded in Portland, Oregon in 1998, Cascade Brewing has been an innovator in the craft beer industry for over 20 years, brewing a broad range of styles from lagers, pale ales and IPAs, to hazy beers, imperial stouts and barrel-aged sours. While Cascade’s portfolio of distinctive sour ales has come to be recognized as its signature product, Cascade’s brewing team has continued to grow and evolve its non-sour program with the same level of quality and creativity that has become synonymous with the Cascade Brewing brand.

LONE TREE, CO— It’s a fruit-packed summer at Lone Tree Brewing Company, where visitors can now find cans of Golden Berry Ale, the latest in Lone Tree’s rotating small-batch can series. Six-packs of Golden Berry Ale are also available across Colorado and Kansas in select craft establishments.

“This beer was inspired by a trip to Belgium,” says Dennis O’Harrow, Lone Tree’s Head Brewer. “It’s very fruit-forward with a unique almost banana-like character that comes from the esters in the yeast strain we use.”

Golden Berry Ale is a higher octane, Belgian-Style Ale that’s surprisingly quaffable for its 8% ABV. Belgian Golden Strong Ale at its base with both raspberry and blackberry juice and puree, this new selection from Lone Tree has arrived right in time for the heat of the summer. Find it in cans at Lone Tree Brewing Company and across Colorado and Kansas for a limited time.

For more information about the Lone Tree Brewing Company Golden Berry Ale, contact Emily Hutto at hutto@radcraftbeer.com.

Electro-Lite IPA, Brewed for The Active Nevadan

LAS VEGAS (July 23rd, 2020) – CraftHaus Brewery, known for their innovative spirit, is set to launch Nevada’s first low calorie, electrolyte IPA on July 31st at both of their taprooms and across the valley of Southern Nevada.

Brewed for the active Nevadan enjoying the State’s beautiful outdoors. Intentionally low in calories, under 120 and big hop flavors are intensified with the addition of lime peel. Electrolytes of Sodium, Potassium, Chloride and Bicarbonate ensure you can keep on keeping on. “With Nevada having so many options for outdoor activities, this beer style was a natural fit for our community,” Wyndee Forrest, Co-Owner and Founder, CraftHaus Brewery. Designing the beer style was a balancing act between keeping the calorie count low without sacrificing the distinct India Pale Ale flavor.

Reflecting a shift in more health conscience beverage choices, this is the brewery’s first beer in a low-calorie category. Staying true to their craft beer roots, the beer clocks in at 4% alcohol by volume and 45 International Bittering Units from Cascade and Mosaic hops. The beer kicks off events with local trail running clubs, cycling groups and climbing gyms.

Electro-Lite, IPA is a seasonal brew for the brewery and is expected to be available for approximately three months. The beer will be on tap at both Henderson and Las Vegas taprooms. It is also available in twelve ounce, six-packs to take on outdoor adventures. Six packs can be found across the Vegas Valley.

Imperial Stout Inspired by a Passion and Pursuit of Positive Change In the Response to

Racial Injustices in Minneapolis and Beyond

Minneapolis (July 23, 2020) – Able Seedhouse + Brewery in Northeast Minneapolis is always seeking to be a place that is involved in the community and serves its members. That said, the brewery is doing what it does best; using beer to support positive change, continued awareness and hopefully, measurable growth.

The Black is Beautiful initiative is a collaborative effort launched by Weathered Souls Brewing in San Antonio and African American head brewer and co-owner Marcus Baskerville. “We are proud to join hundreds of breweries nationwide, to raise awareness about the injustices people of color have faced for too long.” All proceeds from the sale of Able’s Black is Beautiful stout will be donated back to local organizations fighting for equity, justice and empowerment in our communities.

“We’re all asking ourselves: What can I do to help? Here at Able, we’re using beer as a way to amplify the voices of those who have suffered at the hands of a broken system,” says Matt Johnson, Owner of Able Seedhouse + Brewery.

The Black is Beautiful release from Able Seedhouse + Brewery also highlights its collaboration with Arbeiter Brewing Co. “They’re friends of ours and are located at Lake and Minnehaha, close to where the riots took place,” says Able Head Brewer Bobby Blasey. “We’re hoping this release will make more people aware of them as they get ready to open soon.”

“Being in the heart of the riots and revolution while seeing our neighbors lose their business but also justice being served was a surreal experience,” says Garth Blomberg, Co-Founder, Arbeiter Brewing Company. “Not being able to brew ourselves yet, it was a no-brainer to jump on this collaboration with Able Brewery, to raise money for local businesses we lost and to empower the black community and community-led safety initiatives.”

Beer exploration led to creating something bold & new when the brewery had forced downtime

– During the turmoil of COVD-19 many have suffered and lost much. Simultaneously, both individuals and businesses alike have been able to find silver linings. One of those linings was the forced opportunity for Birds Fly South Ale Project in Greenville to have additional time to focus on creating a new type of beer release. No Soft Goodbyes, an Imperial Milk Chocolate Stout (available in 16oz cans, 4-packs) will be available for both online pre-sale on July 2nd, as well as purchase and pick-up on July 9th at the brewery’s taproom. Created to be shareable, the bold 4-pack includes 4 variants of the beer (German chocolate cake, mocha, peanut butter, and the base beer).

Like many breweries across the world, Birds found themselves with extra tank space and time. Although it was not a situation anyone wished for, it created some additional bandwidth for them to be creative/innovative. “We don’t typically produce a lot of stouts as a brewery,” noted owner and header brewer Shawn Johnson, “but we found ourselves with extra time to experiment and do some unique things, such as brew a big stout. I had also never made a beer with peanut butter before, so I wanted to give that a try, which inspired one of the stout variants.” The beer as a whole took a lengthy 27 hours to make between the mash and the brew process. It paid off by producing a big, bold, flavorful Imperial Milk Chocolate Stout.

No Soft Goodbyes Mixed 4-Pack, Better Known As “The Friend Pack”

“We also wanted to have something with variety that folks could grab and share with family and close friends during this time of quarantine, so we created some variants of the beer and dubbed it the “friend pack.” Since the beer’s ABV is 15.2%, it lends more to opening a can and tasting and sharing, which is also where the intentionality of the flavor variant comes in. The mixed 4-pack provides a great excuse for folks to taste, share, and discuss the assorted flavors from the same base beer. The brewery even partnered with local coffer roaster, Due South, for the coffee infused mocha variant included in the 4-pack.

More Background on the Beer

The name, No Soft Goodbyes, comes from a band that one of their brewers’, Brett Terrapin, performs in called WRVM. The beer’s name is a lyric straight from one of their songs on their recent LP they released. The brewery surprised Brett with the name by revealing the cans once they arrived with the lyrics featured on them. Much like WRVM’s music, this beer is bold and loud and meant to be shared.

These 16oz can 4-packs will be available at Birds Fly South Ale Project in Greenville, SC for pre-sale starting on July 2nd with an official release date of 7/9/20. Ten cases will be available for purchase of this chewy rich stout will. Individuals can pre-order and schedule curbside pick-up via the brewery’s online store. All the details for this event and release can be found on at https://bfsbeer.com/events/

DURANGO, CO— You might not be able to go on a tropical vacation with your buds right now, but your tastebuds can still escape to tropical fruit paradise with a 6-pack of Ska Brewing’s new release, Tropical Hazy IPA.

With a plush mouthfeel, this Hazy IPA explodes with tropical hop flavors and a soft malt body. Its low actual bitterness allows bright, fruity characteristics to shine. Brewed with papaya and pineapple and weighing in at a crushable but substantial 6% ABV, Tropical Hazy IPA is like a virtual vacation in your mouth.

This new hazy offering from Ska Brewing comes the summer after the brewery’s first hazy IPA can debut. The Hazy IPA sparked the brewery brand refresh last year, and Ska has been experimenting in the hazy department since.

Tropical Hazy IPA arrives across Ska’s national distribution footprint just in time for summer, and it will be available year-round in canned 6-packs going forward. It is also currently available on tap at the brewery’s World Headquarters in Durango.

For more information about Ska’s Tropical Hazy IPA or delve into the hazy IPA subcategory, contact Emily Hutto at hutto@radcraftbeer.com.

ABOUT SKA BREWING

Pioneers in the canned craft beer movement, Ska Brewing is known for an array of styles in 12 oz cans that include Mexican Logger, Modus Hoperandi, and Rue B. Soho.

BREWERIES RESUME PHILANTHROPIC PLAN TO SUPPORT TENNESSEE STATE PARKS

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nashville’s Tennessee Brew Works (“TBW”) and Chattanooga’s Five Wits Brewing Co.(“FWB”)have teamed-up to benefit Tennessee State Parks through their collaboration, Hazy Trails IPA.

This new collaboration beer, Hazy Trails, was brewed specifically to help raise funds for the Tennessee State Parks Conservancy. At 5.6% ABV, this tropical and juicy hazy India Pale Ale drinks exceptionally well in the Tennessee heat.

Originally intended to be showcased during a fundraising initiative this spring, the collaboration was put on hiatus during the COVID-19 shutdown.

Hazy Trails IPA will be tapped at both Tennessee Brew Works, 809 Ewing Ave in Nashville and Five Wits Brewing Co, 1501 Long St in Chattanooga, this Wednesday, June 24, and portions of the proceeds will go to benefit the Tennessee State Parks Conservancy. It’s a limited release, so grab it while you can!

“Bringing people and communities together is what we believe in—it is the centerpiece of every decision we make at Five Wits Brewing, said Nathan Michaels, co-founder of Five Wits Brewing. “We consider it a great privilege to work with both Tennessee Brew Works and Tennessee State Parks to heighten awareness for something we passionately support, but also to bring all communities together to support each other.”

“We do not want the extraordinary events of 2020 to impede our philanthropic plans. Our communities need our support more than ever,” said Christian Spears, founder and president of Tennessee Brew Works. “Both of our organizations felt it was imperative to resume our previously planned charitable initiatives as soon as possible.”

About Tennessee Brew Works

Tennessee Brew Works was founded in 2013 with a mission to create high quality craft beer that pays homage to the land, traditions and culture of Tennessee. They brew beers using only natural ingredients and source them from local farms whenever possible. Tennessee Brew Works is owned and operated by folks in Tennessee. They are guided by their motto: “We work hard to create high quality craft beer that makes Tennessee proud. Our culture places importance on family, friends, and community, and we hope you’ll be a part of it.” To learn more, visit Tennessee Brew Works at tnbrew.com.

About Five Wits Brewing Co.

Five Wits Brewing Company was founded through a shared passion for beer and ongoing pursuit to deliver an unforgettable experience to loyal beer drinking friends. They believe drinking beer should be a highly visceral and dynamic experience. Around their brewery, they call it ‘tapping into your senses.’ The can, bottle, or pint glass that carries this liquid gold and sets the mood with imagery that gives an initial perspective of the brew that it contains. The aromas and effervescence stimulate the nose. If you close your eyes and listen closely, you might even hear the beer’s artful whispers bouncing atop the bubbles. When you or your friends crack open a Five Wits Brewing Co. beer, the first thing you taste is the hard work and passion that they have poured into that glass. Whether you are taking a seat in the Five Wits Brewing tap room or enjoying their beer elsewhere, you’ll be joining them on a journey to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for that beverage they love and enjoy so much.

“Spread Love” label artwork shares a message of hope in time of COVID-19 pandemic. Brewery commits a portion of IPA’s sales to Meals on Wheels West, providing nourishment and care for vulnerable population.

LOS ANGELES – Santa Monica Brew Works (SMBW) announces the release of “Spread Love” Juicy IPA, launching Saturday, June 27th. “Spread Love” will be available in 4-packs of 16 oz. cans to-go from the brewery’s Tasting Room in Santa Monica (1920 Colorado Ave.). A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each 4-pack will be donated to Meals On Wheels West, helping to support efforts in response to COVID-19. The fundraiser will continue until the limited 10-barrel batch sells out.

Collaborating with local artists, the limited release beer features label artwork promoting a message of optimism amidst the coronavirus pandemic. SMBW teamed up with local artists to repurpose a mural that was recently painted in downtown Santa Monica. Artists Corie Mattie and Ruben Rojas joined forces to create the “Spread Love” wallscape as part of a series of murals aiming to inspire hope, positivity, and community.

“After the release of ‘Unsung Heroes,’ (a benefit beer released by SMBW in April supporting UCLA Health’s COVID-19 Fund) we wanted to find another way to support our neighbors in these unprecedented times.” Said Scott Francis, SMBW Co-Founder, President & CEO. “We didn’t have to look far for a group that’s doing truly amazing work.” Meals On Wheels West operations center is located less than half a mile from the brewery.

A portion of the proceeds will support Meals On Wheels West, providing services that nourish and enrich the lives of the Westside’s homebound residents. During the coronavirus pandemic the nonprofit has seen a 45% increase in the number of people in need of meals. Seniors, individuals living with disabilities, veterans, the chronically ill, and those who have experienced homelessness are among the most vulnerable. The organization is often their primary lifeline delivering more than just a meal – also reducing isolation, promoting self-respect, and independent living.

“We are excited to partner with Santa Monica Brew Works as they help our community to Spread the Love and enjoy life. We greatly appreciate their support.” Said MOW West Executive Director, Chris Baca.

For a limited time, the original “Spread Love” mural (which was painted on plywood panels used to protect an empty local business during the pandemic) has been relocated to the brewery and will be on display in the new outdoor weekend beer garden.

“We wanted to brighten the mood on empty streets. In our art, the masks don’t signal fear or distance – but unity and love.” Said Mattie. “We’re stoked to collaborate with Santa Monica Brew Works, especially for such a deserving cause.”

“My motivation stems from a responsibility to inspire positivity.” Adds Rojas. “Spread Love is a reminder to practice empathy and cultivate love.”

The beer, a 7.2% ABV “juicy” IPA, features hops from 4 different continents (North America, Europe, Africa, and Oceania). Patrons can expect citrus and floral aromas, with bursts of tropical flavors – unfiltered for a soft mouthfeel.

Minneapolis –Able Seedhouse + Brewery in Northeast Minneapolis is unveiling a new dry-hopped sour IPA perfect for porches, patios, grilling and hanging this summer. Laser Blade is crafted with amarillo and zythos hops to give the beer flavors of tangerine, mandarin orange, strawberry and white grape. The result is a clean and refreshing beer for kicking back with your crowd.

“For Laser Blade, I wanted to take a nice clean, crisp kettle sour and use some fun hops to show how cool dry hopping a sour can be,” says Able Head Brewer Bobby Blasey. “It’s awesome in dry hopped sours how the flavors from the dry hops trick your tongue into thinking about fresh fruit because of the high acidity. With the tartness you get tons of fruity flavors without even adding fruit.”

Laser Blade is a light gold IPA with 5.2% ABV and 5 IBU. Stop by Able’s pick-up window to stock up on Laser Blade starting June 11th and in local retailers on June 15th.

SAN DIEGO, CA – Thorn Brewing Co. is kicking summer into high gear with the release of two new, canned beverages! Thorn Michelada and Black Paw Blackberry Hard Seltzer are set to release the weekend of June 12th, 2020.

“In furthering our commitment to crafting a ‘three-beer’ beer for every occasion, we are proud to announce two unique, year-round offerings to our line-up.” Thorn Brewing General Manager, Tom Kiely, states. “Black Paw Blackberry Hard Seltzer is Thorn’s answer to a beverage which is typically plagued by artificial flavors. Black Paw contains blackberrIes, which give it a deep-red color and real fruit flavor but it’s still very light at 5% ABV and 115 calories (plus its gluten-free). It’s a delicious alternative to the chemically tasting seltzers you’ve been forced to endure.”

Thorn Michelada is 4% ABV and also thoughtfully made. Co-founder and Director of QC/QA and Research and Development, Eric O’Connor, elaborates on the michelada ingredients. “We were horrified to see that so many of the michelada mixers and other common michelada ingredients such as Clamato, contained things like MSG, high-fructose corn syrup, food coloring, and other artificial additives. We decided to source better ingredients. We are using tomato juice with no sugar added, real clam juice (not powder like Clamato uses), real lime juice, no food coloring, Ponzu instead of Maggi seasoning to avoid the MSG, as well as top-shelf Worcestershire sauce which contains no high-fructose corn syrup. We are passionate about our products and wanted to put out the best craft michelada possible.”

Thorn Michelada and Black Paw Hard Seltzer will both be available in cans throughout San Diego in stores, at Thorn tasting rooms, and through Thorn delivery.

About Thorn Brewing Co.

Thorn Brewing Co. started out in 2012 in North Park as Thorn Street Brewery where they became known as San Diego’s ultimate neighborhood brewery. Their Barrio Logan location opened in 2017 and produces their beer on a 30-barrel system, houses their canning line as well as a tasting room and events space. Thorn Mission Hills just opened up this past summer and is already becoming a local hangout featuring 12 rotating taps, beer-to-go, and skeeball.

(PORTLAND, Ore. –– June 5, 2020) –– Cascade Brewing has announced the release of three beers: Cascade IPA and Caught Pale Handed Hazy IPA in 16-ounce cans, available now; and Apricot 2019, releasing in 500ml bottles and on draft on June 10.

Cascade IPA is the brewery’s house India Pale Ale, with a rich orange color, citrusy hop aroma and sensible bitterness from Amarillo and Cascade hops (6.2% ABV). Caught Pale Handed Hazy IPA is packed with Amarillo, Azacca and Ekuanot hops, allowing the drink to catch the overripe mango and guava flavors in the beer (6.2% ABV).

Apricot 2019 is a blend of sour blond ales aged in oak wine barrels for up to 14 months, then naturally fermented with Northwest-grown apricots and aged on the fruit for an additional six months before packaging (7.3% ABV). As one of the first and longest running blends in the brewery’s portfolio, Apricot has become a quintessential part of Cascade Brewing’s identity as a producer of Northwest sour ales.

All three beers will be available at the Cascade Brewing Barrel House and the Lodge at Cascade Brewing pubs, as well as through pre-order at CascadeBrewing.shop for local pickup and home delivery. Apricot will also be released through the company’s distribution network, while the canned products will be available via self-distribution.

About Cascade Brewing
Founded in Portland, Oregon in 1998, Cascade Brewing has been a pioneer in the sour beer renaissance since 2006 and the proud innovator of the Northwest Sour Ale.

DURANGO, CO— Ska Brewing’s latest canned offering is a delicious sidekick for athletes and adventurists. The low-calorie, low-carb Aggrolite IPA is now available across Ska’s nationwide distribution footprint.

Aggrolite IPA is a collaboration with one of Ska’s favorite bands, The Aggrolites, who played at the brewery’s 24th anniversary invitational in 2019. The Aggrolites started as a a compilation of two bands, one reggae and one ska in genre, that came together in Los Angeles in 2002 to create the soul and funk-inspired “dirty reggae music” that they’re known for.

Aggrolite is light-bodied with slight citrus and pine notes from the use of Cascade, Mandarina Bavaria, and El Dorado hops, and a light golden orange color. This beer contains only 99 calories and 4g of carbohydrates per can, with 4.2% ABV. Aggrolite pairs well with bike rides, boating, and bikinis.

Show Ska your Aggrolite activities with the #SkaAggrolites hashtag, and tag @skabrewing for a chance to be featured.

Find Aggrolite at select retailers across its thirteen state distribution footprint, and in cans at Ska’s World Headquarters in Durango, Colorado. Please check the Ska Website, www.skabrewing.com, for adjusted hours and to-go offerings.

For more details on Ska’s Aggrolite IPA, contact Emily Hutto at hutto@radcraftbeer.com.

Boise, ID (May 27, 2020) – Priding themselves on the quality and craftsmanship of their beer, Payette Brewing is releasing a wildly new look with the same adventurous attitude. As a brewery that welcomes all types of beer drinkers through their door, they do know that their brand especially speaks to those who like to pack up their beer and take it out on an outdoor adventure.

“We have a lot to be excited about,” said Paige Francis, owner and Marketing Director of Payette Brewing. “Although our mandated closure put a lot of stress on us, we used it as a time to hit refresh and elevate our look to match the attitude of the beer and our beer drinkers.”

Each design was inspired by the taste, ingredients, and process of the individual beer. A clean design that prides itself on Payette’s roots by using the outline of the Payette River, and the iconic Idaho bar code.

The rollout of each new can will happen throughout 2020, with a handful already in the market. “Sofa King Sunny, Urban Surfer and Embers Porter were the first to debut our new look,” says Francis. “North Fork Lager and Aura Guava & Hibiscus Sour Ale have made the transition and we are excited to continue releasing the new designs for others in our portfolio. We’re not doing it all at once because well, good things take time.”

After being closed to the public for over two months due to the cease on-site consumption of the taproom during COVID-19, Payette is thrilled to welcome back their loyal supporters to their taproom on Saturday, May 30, at 11 a.m.

Payette Brewing Company:Founded in Boise, Idaho by Michael Francis in 2010, Payette Brewing Company, is proud to have been named “Best Brewery” in Boise for six consecutive years by Boise Weekly readers. Payette expanded and opened their 60-barrel production facility along the Boise River in Downtown Boise in June of 2016. Payette gives back to the community on a weekly basis through the “Kegs 4 Kause” program.

Beer has been bringing people together for decades. And now, since the start of COVID-19 shelter-in-place orders, beer lovers haven’t been visiting their favorite breweries as much, if at all — and they’re feeling the void.

Breweries like Colorado’s WeldWerks are turning to online retailer Tavour to help bring the community together virtually, even in these potentially isolating times.

This week, Tavour will release WeldWerks’ Medianoche to the online craft community, marking the very first time the 2020 vintage will be sold outside the taproom. Beer collectors across the country are already on high alert to get their hands on one of the mere 540 bottles to leave Colorado.

Search any beer trading forum, and you’ll see a surge of requests every time WeldWerks releases a new variant in their award-winning Medianoche series. Collectors raid their cellars and offer top-dollar bottles from some of the most respected breweries in the world, like Cantillon, Bottle Logic, 3 Fonteinen, and Angry Chair!

Procuring a bottle of the new Medianoche will add prestige to their collections. Here’s why:

WeldWerks first brewed Medianoche Barrel Aged Imperial Stout before they even opened their taproom doors in 2015. It was the beer that kickstarted the Colorado brewery’s dark beer prowess. In just five years, the dark and decadent series has garnered a following that rivals some of the most established beers in craft.

For Medianoche, the brewers use a careful blend of chocolate malts, crystal malts, and flaked oats, boiled continuously for an insane 36 hours to create boundless layers of rich caramel and baker’s chocolate. After fermentation, they age this massive Stout in a blend of 7-12 year top-shelf bourbon barrels for 18-24 months, lending notes of toasted marshmallows, sweet vanilla, and toffee. This meticulously crafted brew took gold at the 2017 Great American Beer Festival in the highly competitive Wood and Barrel Aged Strong Stout category, even beating out the dark beer masters at Perennial!

All of this time and dedication stacks up, and craft enthusiasts have their eyes on the prize.

For WeldWerks, an off-premise release for Medianoche signals a shift in how they serve out-of-town fans. But, in these trying times, it’s more important than ever to adapt to stay afloat, and one clear way to connect with beer drinkers is through virtual releases like this one.

Both are now available in 16-ounce cans along with the newest addition to the Able lineup: Frequency. This light, lower-calorie IPA is the perfect backyard sipper for grilling and chilling on a sunny afternoon.

“I took some new school hop varieties and melded their flavors of grapefruit, orange, berry, melon, papaya, and mango with a light, fresh maltiness,” says Able Head Brewer Bobby Blasey. “It’s got just the right amount of bitterness to accompany all types of summer foods and balanced enough to be enjoyed all alone. Filtered to be nice and clear, I think it’s gorgeous in the glass and tastes just crazy refreshing.”

Frequency is a straw-colored IPA with 4.8% ABV and 12 IBU. Stop by Able’s pick-up window to stock up onFrequency, First Light, Supergiant or any of your favorite Able beers. Frequency joins Able’s flagship 16-ouncers on local liquor store shelves starting Monday, May 18th.
